Macuilxochitl Resurrection

Quetzalcóatl es el Dios de la vida en la cultura azteca. Su nombre se compone de quetzal, que proviene de la palabra "quetzalli" (hermoso) y cóatl, que significa "serpiente".
Según algunas escrituras antiguas, fue capaz de estar en la tierra bajo cuerpos humanos cuatro veces seguidas. Sus nombres fueron Huracán Vukub-Cakix, Zipacná y Kabrakan, el sabio Weman, y Cē Ācatl Tōpīltzin Quetzalcoatl o Kukulkan. Se dice que habrá un quinto regreso, y se le conocerá como Macuilxóchitl (Quinta Flor) y cuando su reencarnación llegue, comenzará una época de grandes aprendizajes y sacrificios para este mensajero cósmico.

Siempre he sido gran admiradora de mi cultura, sobre todo de la azteca. Es por eso que Delexir refleja muchos mitos y costumbres de mis antepasados. Mezclando algunos hechos verídicos con ficción, se me ocurrió esta parte de la historia, donde Delexir se convierte en el contenedor de Quetzalcóatl. Cuando es sacrificada, el Dios le da la oportunidad de revivir a cambio de dejarlo vivir en su cuerpo, siendo él quien decidiera la fecha de su muerte. Delexir acepta, y renace bajo un eclipse solar, por lo que su comunidad piensa que es un suceso malévolo y la agrede. Finalmente, Delexir estalla y manifiesta por primera vez a Quetzalcóatl.

Quetzalcoatl is the God of life in the Aztec culture. His name consists of quetzal, which comes from the word "quetzalli" (beautiful) and Coatl, meaning "snake".
According to some ancient writings, he was able to be in the ground under human bodies four times. Their names were Vukub-Cakix Hurricane, Zipacna and Kabrakan, sage Weman, and Ce Acatl Topiltzin Quetzalcoatl or Kukulkan. It is said to be fifth back, and known as Macuilxóchitl (Fifth Flower) and when his reincarnation arrives, it'll begin a time of great learning and sacrifices for this cosmic messenger.

I've always been a big fan of my culture, especially of the Aztec. That's why Delexir reflects many myths and customs of my ancestors. Mixing some true facts with fiction, I thought this part of the story, where Delexir becomes the Quetzalcoatl's container. When she's sacrificed, the God giave here the opportunity to revive, meanwhile she let him live in her body, but he's gonna be the one who decides the date of her death. Delexir accepts, and she reborn under a solar eclipse, so that the community thinks is a malicious event and assaults her. Finally, Delexir get mad and expresses first Quetzalcoatl appareance.
